About Malang

Malang is well known as the city for students, and located in Java Island. It is the second largest city in East Java province. It is surrounded by volcanic mountains that are still active, Semeru (the highest mountain in Java), Bromo Mountain (well known for its sunrise scenery and the surrounding savanna and sand), Kawi and Panderman (known as sleeping pretty girl), and Arjuno (popular with its hot spring water). The greater area of Malang, with many colonial buildings and mild to cold temperature, is near Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park which is the second tourist destination in Indonesia. Close to Malang is the city of Batu, located on the hills of mountains and famous for its apples, flowers and other agricultural productions. Batu is well known as an international tourist destination.

Access to Malang

1. Direct flight to Malang (Abdul Rachman Saleh airport) is available from Jakarta, Denpasar (Bali), and Balikpapan.

2. The nearest international airport is Juanda Airport located in Surabaya. Land route from Surabaya to Malang takes about two hours.
